RoboCup Humanoid Robot Program Update

RoboCup Federation has announced a series of important updates to the RoboCup Humanoid Robot Program, introducing new humanoid platforms, revised participation conditions, and expanded support measures for teams preparing for RoboCup 2026.

New Platforms Announced
Through new partnerships with leading robotics manufacturers Unitree and Booster, the program is expanding its available platform ecosystem. Key additions include:

  • Booster introducing the K1 RoboCup Edition
  • Unitree adding the R1 robot to its product portfolio

These developments are accompanied by updated pricing structures and revised conditions for existing humanoid platforms.

Simplified Participation Process
To broaden accessibility and streamline entry into the program, the application process has been simplified:

  • Existing RoboCup Soccer teams, including Soccer Simulation teams, may now place robot orders directly with manufacturers
  • New teams are encouraged to apply through the official RoboCup Humanoid Robot Program website

Applications can be submitted by visiting robotprogram.robocup.org, scrolling to the bottom of the page, and selecting the “Apply” option.

Special Robot Pool for RoboCup 2026
In preparation for RoboCup 2026, Booster will also provide a dedicated humanoid robot pool to support participating teams:

  • Teams entering with two K1 robots may be eligible to receive up to three additional robots from a shared pool of 12 K1 units
  • Teams entering with one T1 robot may be eligible to receive up to two additional robots from a shared pool of eight T1 units

Looking Ahead
The RoboCup Federation is also in ongoing discussions with additional manufacturers to further expand platform availability and participation opportunities in future editions of the competition.

For complete information regarding platforms, pricing, and application procedures, teams are encouraged to visit robotprogram.robocup.org.

The Federation looks forward to welcoming an even broader range of teams to the Humanoid League at RoboCup 2026.
